This collection of work is part of the David Bethuel Jamieson Fellowship at Provincetown Community Compact in 2019. The residency experience at an off-gird dune shack offers an intimate connection to the site, providing a glimpse into a more primitive lifestyle that fosters a stronger understanding of how humans once lived within the landscape. The artwork from this collection was made from various shades of rust made from high iron content groundwater that was left from glacial movement 20,000 years ago together with rust from found objects in the shack. The goal is to express the dynamic changes in the environment of the dune from nature and human settlement after 1938.
Works in this collection received the Innovative Solution Award at the Creative People Leading Climate Action Exhibition hosted by Augusta Salvage Gallery in 2021. Works from the collection have also been acquired by Fidelity and private collectors. For inquiries about availability, please fill out the contact form to get in touch.
