The work in this collection is from the La Wayaka Current residency at the Atacama Desert in Chile. Starting with a question of how to use a painting process to create an intimate connection with the unknown landscape of the outer space, I stayed with Likan Antai People, the indigenous people of the Atacama Desert to observe their relationship with this extreme landscape. In this collection, the sky became a dominate part of the landscape. The boundary of landscape in my painting has expanded into the universe rethinking on the how the our ecosystem can connect with another planet.
